Library. Vanderbilt had a collection of over 23,000 books. The ceiling is a painting made up of 13 separate canvases and measures 64'x32'. It was painted by Pellegrini (1675-1741). It was originally located in the ballroom of a palace in Venice. The fireplace is black marble.
